"Glorious" - a Hood / Gulfstar 40 Custom from 1977

Designed by Ted Hood as a Custom 40 and built by Gulfstar Custom Boats Division.

Listed as hull# 14 - of the 1977 production run - she has a 40' 2" LOA, 11' 4" beam,

Centerboard 3' 11" to 11' 3", and 54' mast.

Sv_Glorious can be seen periodically at the Ventura Isles Yacht Club in Ventura,

12/04 update:

The new LeFiell mast is ordered and we will be re-rigging with 1x19
3/8" 316 wire. We have lengthened the boom three feet to 17' and will hoist a
40sq.meter(424 sq.') battenless, negative roach main. The genoa will be 63 sq.
meter(671 sq.') on a Profurl P-42. The babystay is gone, replaced with a
mainstay with a yankee-cut staysail and runners of my own design. We are adding a
backstay chainplate to the bottom edge of the transom and the old backstay
chainplate will accomodate the topping lift. Also, a s/s open-style bowsprit
for anchor rollers and tack attachment for the gennaker.
